Sharjah has unveiled Uruk City at the second Sharjah Next forum, presenting a vision for an AI-enabled, sustainable city designed to produce its own food, energy and water without relying on conventional utility networks. Bringing together SPARK, the American University of Sharjah and SEE Holding, the initiative aims to connect research with practical applications, testing technologies that improve resource efficiency and residents’ wellbeing. The announcement also outlined Uruk 2.0, a platform for testing AI and sustainability solutions in water, agriculture and smart cities and supporting research commercialization.
