Sharif Mahmood)UAE technology group e& has introduced its first company-branded artificial intelligence laptop, targeting businesses and public-sector organizations that want to run selected AI tools without a continuous internet connection. The AI Laptop by e& combines Windows 11 Pro with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series processors and an e& application called AI Talk, which supports compatible large language models directly on the device.
Instead of sending every prompt or document to a remote data center, supported tasks can be processed on the laptop itself. AI Talk may provide chat, writing assistance, document summarization, translation, information extraction, spreadsheet analysis and analysis of multiple PDF files. Arabic- and English-language interaction is also listed among the available functions, although the precise features depend on the software version and approved configuration.
Local processing does not make the machine completely independent of the internet. E& states that supported AI models can perform many functions offline, but software updates, cloud applications and other online services still require connectivity.
Keeping designated workloads on the laptop may be particularly relevant to organizations handling confidential financial, medical or government information. Documents and prompts used with supported AI Talk functions do not need to be transmitted to an external cloud service. Local processing can therefore reduce one potential point of exposure, although organizations remain responsible for access controls, device security and their own data-handling requirements.
Banks and other regulated businesses have shown growing interest in generative AI, but data location, confidentiality and oversight can complicate adoption. An offline-capable model gives employees another way to summarize or analyze internal material where connectivity is unreliable or where sending information to an outside platform is restricted. E& identifies government, education, enterprise and field operations as intended markets, alongside remote and hybrid workers.
Security should not be inferred from the word “offline” alone. A locally running model can reduce reliance on an external service, but the laptop and its stored data still require appropriate encryption, identity management, software maintenance and physical protection. E& says the device includes business-oriented security and IT deployment capabilities.
The product follows a broader edge-AI agreement announced by e& and Qualcomm Technologies in May 2025. The companies said they planned to work on Snapdragon-powered devices, including PCs and extended-reality hardware, capable of running large language models on the device. Their proposed collaboration also covered industrial gateways, connected infrastructure and other applications serving government and enterprise customers.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processors include a neural processing unit, or NPU, built to handle AI workloads separately from the conventional central and graphics processors. Qualcomm says its Snapdragon X Elite platform can run certain generative AI models locally, while Microsoft describes NPUs as dedicated hardware for on-device AI features in newer Windows computers.
The collaboration also connects the laptop with Qualcomm’s regional expansion. The chipmaker said in 2025 that its engineering center in Abu Dhabi would evaluate edge-AI applications in areas including energy, manufacturing, logistics, retail and smart mobility. E&’s laptop turns part of that earlier partnership into a product that UAE organizations can now order, while leaving open questions about manufacturing arrangements, sales expectations and large-scale customer adoption.
E& lists S1-14 Plus and S1-14 Elite configurations on its website. The Plus model is presented with 512 gigabytes of PCIe Gen4 storage, while Elite options include 512-gigabyte and 1-terabyte PCIe Gen5 configurations.
The official page advertises monthly starting prices of approximately $31.31 (AED 115) for the Plus model, $33.76 (AED 124) for the 512-gigabyte Elite and $36.49 (AED 134) for the 1-terabyte Elite, excluding the UAE’s 5% value-added tax.
Businesses can submit an inquiry for multiple devices, demonstrations, deployment assistance and lifecycle support. E& says configurations, quantities, warranty arrangements and commercial terms will vary according to customer requirements.
