China Securities has secured a license to establish a regional office in the Dubai International Financial Centre, adding a Beijing-based investment bank to the financial district’s growing group of Chinese institutions. DIFC said the firm had also been authorized by the Dubai Financial Services Authority, which regulates financial services conducted in or from the center.

The office is intended to support China Securities’ work with clients, investors and financial institutions across the Middle East.

China Securities operates across equity and debt capital markets, investment banking, asset management and institutional services. A Dubai presence could put its staff closer to potential counterparties in those fields.

China Securities is publicly listed and headquartered in Beijing. Its presence in DIFC adds a securities firm with several lines of business to a Chinese financial community that includes major commercial banks. DIFC describes the office as part of the firm’s international expansion.

Chinese Institutions Already in DIFC

China Securities enters an established Chinese financial community in Dubai. DIFC named Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Merchants Bank International and China International Capital Corporation among the institutions already present in the center. The new arrival broadens that group’s investment banking presence. DIFC

DIFC said China’s five largest banks collectively account for more than 30% of total assets in its banking and capital markets sector. That is a measure of the banks’ weight within that DIFC sector, rather than a share of the UAE banking system.

The figure shows the scale of the existing Chinese banking presence in the district. China Securities joins that community as an investment bank, a different type of institution from the large commercial banks that account for the asset share cited by DIFC.

The center also said the opening followed sustained discussions with China Securities about Dubai and the regional market.

China Securities’ arrival brings a different mix of services to DIFC’s Chinese financial community. While several of the institutions named by the center are commercial banks, China Securities’ stated business includes capital markets, investment banking and asset management. Its regional office adds another type of financial firm to that group.

Having several Chinese banks and investment firms in one financial district may make it easier for institutions to meet potential clients and counterparties. DIFC has framed the latest office as a way to strengthen connections among Chinese, UAE and international markets.

The Wider Financial Center

China Securities arrives after a year of growth in DIFC’s registered business community. In its 2025 annual results, published in February, the center reported 8,844 active companies and 1,052 regulated firms at year-end.

DIFC reported that 2,525 new companies registered during 2025, up 39% from the previous year. Its year-end figures also counted more than 500 wealth and asset management firms, including 102 hedge funds. China Securities’ arrival follows that broader growth in the center’s financial community.

DIFC said its 2025 community included more than 290 banks and capital markets institutions. It also listed China International Capital Corporation among firms that joined during the year. China Securities’ arrival adds another Chinese investment bank to that wider mix of institutions.

DIFC’s 2025 figures put its total workforce at 50,200, an increase of 4,122 during the year. The employment figure offers another measure of the district’s size alongside its company and regulated-firm counts.

DIFC said its authority licensed the regional presence and that the DFSA authorized the firm.

China Securities’ Dubai office is a concrete expansion of its regional presence, with its business impact still open.
